terms
The rules for using Twist. By making an account or publishing a tool, you agree to them. Updated October 22, 2026.
Twist is run by Basis Lab Development, LLC. "We" here means them.
your account
- You need to be at least 13, or the minimum age where you live if that's higher.
- Keep your sign-in safe. You're responsible for what happens in your account, including what agents you connect publish for you.
- Handles are first come, first served. If you change yours, the old one is free for anyone to take, and old links forward to you until someone does. We can take back a handle that pretends to be someone else or holds a name that clearly belongs to someone else.
your tools are yours
- You keep every right to what you publish.
- You let Twist host, run and show your tools, and make screenshots and previews of them, to run the service. That permission ends when you delete the tool.
- Only publish what you have the right to share. If a tool includes other people's code, follow its license.
- Anyone can use a public tool.
- If a public tool allows remixes (the default), you let people on Twist copy it into their own account, change it and publish their copy on Twist, credited to you. Turning remixes off stops new copies; it doesn't remove the ones already made.
what you can't publish
- Malware, or anything that harms people's devices, data or accounts.
- Phishing, or tools that ask for passwords, keys or payment details.
- Tools that collect data about people without telling them, or hide where they send it.
- Crypto mining, spam, or attacks on Twist or anyone else.
- Anything illegal, sexual content involving minors, harassment, threats or hate.
- Anything that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark or privacy, or pretends to be someone it isn't.
using tools on Twist
Tools are made by their creators, not by Twist. Every version goes through some checks, but we don't review every tool and can't promise any of them works or is safe. Use them at your own risk, and report anything wrong from the ··· menu on its page.
when we step in
Before others see a version, an automatic safety check looks at it, and it can hold or block versions on its own. We can also remove tools, hold versions for review, or suspend accounts that break these terms or put people at risk. When we can, we'll tell you why. If you think we got it wrong, email hello@twist.tools.
copyright complaints
If a tool on Twist uses your work without permission, send a notice to our copyright agent. We take the tool down while we look into it and let its creator know. Under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act, the notice needs:
- The work you say is copied, and a link to the tool on Twist that copies it.
- Your name, address, phone number and email.
- A statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't authorized by you, your agent or the law.
- A statement that the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you own the right or may act for whoever does.
- Your signature (typing your full name is fine).

hello@twist.tools
If your tool was taken down and you think that's a mistake, send a counter notice to the same address: the tool's link, your name, address and phone number, a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe it was removed by mistake, consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court where you live (or, outside the US, any federal court where we can be found), and your signature. We pass it to whoever complained, and put the tool back in 10 to 14 business days unless they tell us they've gone to court.
We close the accounts of people who repeatedly publish other people's work without permission.
To report a tool for anything else, like phishing or malware, use the report button on its page or email hello@twist.tools.
the service
- Twist is free for now. If that changes, we'll tell you before it affects you.
- We may change or stop features. If we ever shut Twist down, you'll get at least 30 days to take your tools with you.
- Twist is provided as is, without warranties. As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses, lost data or lost profits, and our total liability to you is limited to $100.
leaving
You can download everything from settings and stop using Twist any time; email hello@twist.tools to delete your account. We can close accounts that break these terms.
changes
We'll post changes here and update the date. For big changes we'll email you first. Using Twist after a change means you accept it.
